Fixing Posture and Gaining Great Clients: My First Feature in Men’s Health

Like a lot of teenage kids growing up in the 90s, Men’s Health magazine was a staple in my life. Before everything became digital, I’d flip through the pages, looking for workout routines to spice up my fitness plan. One time, I pushed my biceps so hard after a Men’s Health workout that I couldn’t bend my arm for days!

In 2018, something amazing happened—I was featured in Men’s Health with an online article about fixing bad posture. I never thought I’d get to be part of the magazine I admired so much growing up! The feature focused on exercises to improve posture, and it was a game-changer for my career. That article connected me with clients who were dealing with pain and discomfort from sitting at a desk all day. Correcting posture became a huge part of my fitness offerings.

Fast forward six years, and now I’m running TS Fitness—ironically spending more time at a desk myself. When my lower back starts to tighten or my shoulders round forward, I rely on the same posture correction exercises I shared in my Men’s Health feature. These exercises help me, just like they’ve helped so many others who spend hours at a desk.

If you’re struggling with poor posture or back pain from sitting too much, check out the routine that worked wonders for me: Exercises to Fix Bad Posture.

Why Posture Correction is Essential for Desk Workers

Poor posture is one of the leading causes of discomfort and pain for people who spend long hours sitting. Whether you’re slouched over a computer or driving for extended periods, these habits can lead to tightness in your lower back and shoulders. By incorporating targeted posture correction exercises, you can alleviate pain and improve your overall mobility.

How My Posture Correction Exercises Brought in Clients

After my Men’s Health feature went live, I noticed an influx of clients who were struggling with posture issues due to desk jobs. They were eager for solutions to their chronic pain, and the exercises I shared helped many of them overcome discomfort. Helping clients through simple yet effective movements reinforced my belief that posture is key to long-term health, especially for desk-bound workers.
