What a Celebrity Chef and a Father of 13 Have in Common?

What do a celebrity chef and a man with 13 kids have in common? They’re both fathers who make it a priority to stay fit for themselves and their families.

For many years, I trained a well-known celebrity chef. Despite appearing on several TV shows, running multiple restaurants, and raising three children, he still made time to work out four to five times a week. Why? To relieve stress and stay energized for both his demanding career and his family life.

On the other hand, I also train my Rabbi, who—yes—has 13 children! While running a synagogue with hundreds of members, he still carves out two 30-minute workouts per week. His belief is simple: “The more you put into your day, the more time stretches.”

One of the most common excuses I hear from fathers who want to start a fitness routine is: “I don’t have time.”

But the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t often comes down to their mindset. They see fitness not as a time drain but as something that gives them time.

Why Do Some Fathers Succeed in Staying Fit?

It’s not about having time; it’s about how you view time. Instead of focusing on what you lose, consider what you gain from regular exercise.

What do you gain from exercise? You get:

  • More energy
  • Improved mood
  • Increased confidence
  • Better physical function
  • Higher quality of life
  • Setting a positive example for your children
  • A healthier, more attractive appearance

The next time you think you’re too busy, remember that making time for fitness can improve nearly every aspect of your life. Want to learn more? Contact us here.
