A Vacation Workout to Help You Stay Consistent

Travel can throw off your normal routine, but one thing that doesn’t have to stop is intentional movement.

No, you probably won’t be following your normal gym routine. You don’t need to be chasing PRs, either. But making time to move, keep your body feeling good, and maintain the habits you’ve built can go a long way.

Consistency isn’t about being perfect. It’s about continuing to show up, even when your routine changes.

Here’s a simple bodyweight workout you can save for your next trip.

Warm-Up (2 Rounds)

  • 10 Bodyweight Squats
  • 10 Alternating Reverse Lunges (5/leg)
  • 10 Inchworms
  • 10 Plank Alt Knee Drops

Workout (5 Rounds)

  1. Lateral Lunge – 8–10/leg
  2. Dive Bomber Push-Ups – 10–12
  3. Broad Jump → Backpedal – 8 reps
  4. Bear Crawl Forward & Backward – 40 total steps
  5. Bike Crunches – 30 total reps
  6. Hollow Body Hold – 10 breaths

Rest: 60 seconds between rounds.

Finisher (5 Minutes)

AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible)

  • 10 Jump Squats
  • 10 Plank Walk-Backs
  • 20 Alternating Forward Lunges (10/leg)
  • 20 Mountain Climbers (10/side)

Remember, your goal on vacation isn’t necessarily to get in better shape. It’s to come home without losing the momentum you’ve already built.

You don’t need a full gym, your normal schedule, or a perfect workout to stay consistent. A little intentional movement can help you feel better while you’re away and make it easier to get back into your normal routine when you return.
