What Turning 46 Taught Me About Strength

Today I turn 46.

And I'll be honest with you, this past year has been one of the hardest and one of the best of my life, often in the same week!

I went through a divorce. I watched TS Fitness grow more than I ever imagined. I completed two HYROX races and a half marathon. I traveled the most I ever have. And our gym was named Gym of the Year in my mastermind group, an honor that belongs to every coach and client who walks through our doors.

When I look back at all of it, a few lessons stand out. I want to share them with you, because I think they apply whether you're 26, 46, or 76.

1. Hard Seasons Don't Stop You. They Shape You.

Life will knock you off balance constantly. That's not a sign you're failing. It's a sign you're living.

What got me through was the support of people around me and just showing up each day. Training kept me grounded on days when nothing else felt steady.

2. You're Never Too Old to Do Something New.

At 45, I crossed finish lines I'd never attempted before, like HYROX. Not because I'm special, but because I picked a goal, made a plan, and trained for it one workout at a time.

Choose one challenge that excites you, a 5K, a first pull-up, a specific hike, and put it on your calendar.

3. Get Clear on What You Actually Love.

This year I spent real time figuring out what lights me up. The more I leaned into those things, the more energy I had for everything else.

Notice which workouts, people, and habits leave you feeling better. Then do more of those.

4. Strength Is How You Treat People.

The thing I'm proudest of is the culture we've built. A place where everyone is welcome, nobody is judged, and every client and team member gets the chance to grow into the best version of themselves.

I've been given so many opportunities to grow. Passing that forward is what matters most to me.

If this year taught me anything, it's that you're capable of far more than you think, especially when things get tough.

So wherever you are right now, take one small step forward today. That's how every strong chapter begins.

Thank you for being part of my journey. Here's to growing stronger together.
