The last few months have brought some significant challenges my way. The kind that don’t just take space in your schedule…they take space in your mind. And eventually, they start showing up in your body too.
My lower back was the first place I felt it. Tight, stubborn, and constantly talking to me. Like most of us in fitness, my instinct was to fix it by doubling down on mobility, stretching, and strength. But nothing really changed until I finally addressed the part we tend to ignore.
The mind.
The Mind-Body Connection and Recovery
Recently, I started taking 10 minutes to slow everything down. Nothing fancy. No perfect setup. Just a quiet moment to get out of the constant go-go-go and let my nervous system reset. I’ve been listening to mediations by Joe Dispenza, recommended by my good friend Sean Light.
And the impact has been huge.
My back loosened up. My body felt less reactive. Even my energy had shifted. It wasn’t that the physical work stopped mattering, it’s that my body finally responded once my mind wasn’t locked in stress mode.
Why Relaxation and Breathing Matter
So many of us chase the physical fix when the real issue starts internally. Stress tightens everything. Worry builds tension. Big life challenges show up as small daily aches.
When you calm the mind even for a few minutes, you give the body permission to let go, too.
Try the 10-Day, 10-Minute Challenge
If you’ve been feeling worn down, overwhelmed, tight, or off your game, try taking five minutes.
Just breathe.
No expectations.
You might be surprised how much changes when you start from the inside out.
I challenge you to try it for 10 days for 10 minutes.
Together Stronger. Always.
